panelistMark Johnson

Mark A. Johnson joined Total Technology Ventures, LLC in September 2008 as a Partner with the firm. Mark is the former Vice Chairman of CheckFree Corporation. His responsibilities included evaluating strategic growth opportunities for the company, developing strategic corporate relationships and supporting long term business strategies. His primary strategic focus was to expand CheckFree’s electronic services to a broader base of corporate and consumer customers. He was also a member of the CheckFree Board of Directors. Johnson first joined CheckFree in 1982 as Vice President of Operations. He held numerous positions within the organization and was responsible for the development and launch of CheckFree’s commercial and consumer electronic funds transfer services and CheckFree’s electronic bill payment and bill presentment businesses as well as the development of key strategic alliances and marketing initiatives. In 2000, Johnson left his position as Vice Chairman of Corporate Development and Marketing to form e-RM Ventures, a private investing consultancy focused on early-stage payments-related companies. He continued to work with CheckFree executive management on strategic issues through his Board of Directors position, and returned to CheckFree as Vice Chairman in February 2003. Prior to joining CheckFree Corporation in the early ‘80s, Johnson worked for the Federal Reserve Bank and Bank One. He currently serves on a number of private companies Board of Directors and on the Business Advisory Board of Miami University and the Board of Directors of the Technology Association of Georgia where in 2007 he was the chairman. Johnson holds an undergraduate degree from Miami University and an MBA degree from the Ohio State University.

panelistPatrick Taylor

Mr. Taylor is recognized as a leader in the convergence of controls monitoring, information security and the implementation of technology to boost corporate governance. As CEO of Oversight Systems, Patrick is responsible for understanding customer needs for operational governance and making sure those needs are met in Oversight's product development. As a thought leader in continuous monitoring, Patrick has spoken at several compliance and audit industry conferences for organizations, such as the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. As a respected information security industry insider who served in various product management and strategic marketing roles with Internet Security Systems and Symantec, Patrick is a frequent speaker at conferences, such as RSA, Networld + Interop, Comdex, NetSec and the Goldman Sachs Information Technology Conference.

In addition to his previous experience with ISS and Symantec, Patrick worked in leading roles with ORACLE, Red Brick Systems, GO, Air2Web and Fast-Talk. Patrick has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

panelistLawrence Gold

Lawrence Gold is a member of the Firm's Corporate, Securities & Tax and Government Law & Consulting Practice Groups.

Mr. Gold handles corporate matters for both public and private businesses, with significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, arranging corporate financings including equity and debt arrangements, and advising businesses on succession strategies and strategic investments.

He advises clients with respect to a wide range of corporate and securities law issues dealing with executive compensation, equity-based incentive plans, deferred compensation plans ESOPs and other types of incentive programs.
panelistLinnea Geiss

Linnea joined Arcapita Ventures in 2007 and has more than seven years of technology and operational experience. Prior to joining Arcapita, Linnea was with Radiant Systems (NASDAQ: RADS), where she held a variety of positions including consulting and implementation, product development, and marketing strategy. Most recently, she was the Global Product Manager for emerging technologies. Her tenure with Radiant included nearly three years of international experience, where she helped grow the EMEA business unit and establish the European Center of Excellence in Prague, Czech Republic.

Linnea holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Duke University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
